Time Passes

Oh my goodness. I should have been writing here but have stepped away for a time. Life has been bittersweet with ups and downs and the world is spinning a wee bit mad. Everyone seems to be screaming at each other and I just want to walk along the quiet way, minding my own business and loving people as I go.

Life here on Summit is changing yet again as Abby is now graduated and I have only three left in their school days. It all seems like a dream. Covid shutdowns stopped life for us for quite a time and society slowly got back on it's feet.

Abby had a delicious season of track with obstacles overcome. It was so wonderful to see her emerge and come into her own strengths.

I am tired a lot of the time and wish I had more energy to tackle projects and such.

February

Here are

So let us begin again. The most freeing set of words. I'm really getting up there to the ripe old age of 48! That's kind of a shocker, but yet,

June Ditties

The end of June is almost here...

We've been rounding up the last of the school exams and grades. Bannon and Abby have worked hard to rally at the end. Some scores have been so amazing. Others not so much. The most important part though is to do our best.
Bella had her 9th birthday and as a gift had her ears pierced. I was so proud of her for going through with it she looks simply beautiful.

Sophie is getting ready to enter the 6th grade.

There goes Life being super fast yet again!

The Magic of a Getaway

We traveled on Memorial Day weekend.  Poppy turned 70 and Andrea arranged the time and ideas to celebrate him. his love of the ocean, music, personal history, and some of his loved ones.
We waded in tide pools, played in sand, walked a nature trail, ate a little bit of seafood, had some homemade Polish food, watched a children's play, collected shells, studied the skies and waves.

On the wings

Time you fly.
Father grant me that heart of wisdom.
 For eyes to really see.
For love to lay down, to give away.

In the midst of the bickering, there are memories.
From the cries of injustice, there are prayers to pray
wrongs to confess, hurt to be forgiven

The smell of the lake, the scent of sunscreen, the shrill cry of the seagull
It beckons us to look beyond the tides, the beauty
to behold a caring presence
a guiding hand
an Almighty God

We are poring through our library books, dumping water on each other, eating too much ice cream.  I'm cherishing these days more than I fight the frustrations of growing attitudes that need direction. Sister and brother in law, daughter wait for their little boy to come and to be held in arm.

Time is bittersweet. Meant to be embraced but not held on to. Lived to have another day to love.
Help me do it well Jesus.

Look now for glad and golden hours

Time really flies.
Savor the moments.
   Love your people.

A couple of meaningful traditions will be stitches in memories.

It doesn't have to be fancy,

It just needs to be yours.
Make the most of their doings.
Love them. Enjoy them.

Count your blessings.
